***This is Part II of the recap of my trip to Phoenix to watch the Cubs play the Diamondbacks. Check out Part I here. I will do the same mix of tweets and photos as I did in the first part.***
I left off with our little ticket mix-up. I went to will-call to pick up [...]

***This is Part I of my “Cubs games in Phoenix” trip. I’ll post Part II tomorrow and you won’t want to miss tomorrow’s photos***
My wife and I take our kids to Southern California every summer for 3 weeks to visit my wife’s family. It just so happened that this year, the Cubs would [...]

Even though the Cubs lost last night, I’ll be damned if they aren’t playing some entertaining baseball right now. I know the D-backs are terrible, but it doesn’t matter. I’ve still just had fun watching the Cubs play baseball, and watching the Diamondbacks play makes me feel a little better about the Cubs. On one [...]

If you attempted to follow the live blogging for yesterday’s game, you noticed that:
1. If you get up early enough on a Saturday morning, time plays tricks on you and you you head out the door 5 hours before you wake up.
2. Live-blogging didn’t work. I don’t know care why. But since [...]

The Cubs came through last night with a 3-0 victory over the Dodgers. Kershaw is a tough pitcher and looked pretty sharp last night. Fortunately, Rafael Furcal’s defense didn’t. Kershaw only gave up one unearned run due to a Furcal error, and Lee’s 2-run homer was off the bullpen. Dempster was his usual self last [...]

We hosted our first event of 2010 on Monday at Twenty Sports Grille in Moline. We will be doing monthly events down there this season, and we kicked off the season with a live podcast recording. We’d like to thank everyone that came down to watch the Cubs play the Nationals with us. I know [...]

So far this team has been difficult to watch (as they always are), but there are some encouraging aspects we can hold on to while our hearts palpitate about the rest.
-I’m starting to feel fairly confident in the starting rotation. Dempster and Wells had great outings, and Zambrano looked a lot better yesterday. Dempster had [...]

In retrospect, I should not have worried so much about this game being blacked out in our area. I’d like to hear from folks if they had any trouble getting the game because of MLB/ESPN Blackout. I have DirecTV and it was offered as an alternate ESPN station.
I am trying to convince myself that I [...]

We’ve known all along that getting Reed Johnson back this year would be a long shot. Once the Cubs signed Cliffy Six Nad, that chance faded away completely, yet I still kept my fingers crossed. MLBtraderumors.com is currently reporting that Johnson is close to signing with the Dodgers. I’m not sure if the majority of [...]

In the last few years, I have not hidden my love for Matt Murton. It dawned on me tonight that I hadn’t checked up on him since the end of last season. From April – October, “Matt Murton” may be my most Google’d term on this computer. I start at his Wikipedia page and plan [...]
