For those of you who missed Monday’s game with the Astros (and I’m sure many of us did), Geovany Soto had a great game. Not only did he hit a go-ahead solo homer in the eighth inning, but in the fourth inning he also hung onto the ball after surviving a harsh collision with Michael [...]

***This is Part II of the recap of my trip to Phoenix to watch the Cubs play the Diamondbacks. Check out Part I here. I will do the same mix of tweets and photos as I did in the first part.***
I left off with our little ticket mix-up. I went to will-call to pick up [...]

There aren’t too many good things to say about the Cubs right now. I watched all of Tuesday night’s terrible game and only some of last night’s equally terrible game. What the crap is up with Wells? It’s too bad that Marshall and Gorzelanny are both lefties because it’s looking like Wells should get a [...]

The Cubs wrapped up their opening series in Atlanta last night and head to Cincinnati for their first look at an NL Central Division foe. So let’s take a look back at this, the first series in the 2010 season.
Monday: Braves 16 – Cubs 5
Pitching: Zambrano was bad, Samardzija was worse. Zambrano leaves with [...]

There is a lot going on with the Cubs right now. One of the most pressing issues is the burgeoning injury list. We were so relieved and happy to be injury-free at the beginning of the regular season. Do you see what happens, little Larry? It would have been better to get it out our [...]

If you didn’t get a chance to hear it, Von Joshua was interviewed during the pre-game show on WGN radio. He was surprisingly blunt and honest, which is quite refreshing compared to the way Lou Piniella is handling the situation. Oh yeah, remember the changes Lou said he would be forced to make? Apparently the [...]

This Cubs team is such a disappointment. I honestly can’t identify any point in this season where I figured the playoffs were a lock, except during Spring Training. In his presser after yesterday’s game, Lou indicated there might be changes coming to the line-up. Really?! I would think that would be something you do BEFORE [...]

The Cubs defeated the Astros 7-1 last night behind the strong pitching of Ted Lilly and the resurgence of some dormant bats. Lilly picked up his 7th win, Mike Fontenot went 4-5, including a solo homerun, and Geovany Soto went 3-5. The only bat that remained MIA was Milton Bradley’s. He went 0-6, and smashed [...]

There’s been quite a bit of discussion in the Cubs blog-world about benching slumping veterans in favor of the young hot hands. I don’t understand this and I don’t mean to discount Hoffpauir’s talents, but I’d take Derek Lee in the lineup over Hoffpauir every game.
This is typically one of those arguments that is purely [...]
