Former Notre Dame standout wide receiver, Jeff Samardzija, was called up to the big leagues again today. I am a huge ND and Samardzija fan. That said, I hate seeing him called up to the Cubs as a reliever. He’s being groomed to be a starter and I’d like to see him get comfortable and [...]

Since I’m on vacation, I’m a bit out of the loop. This may have been discussed on Chicago-based and national sports radio. It may be the biggest news in sports or it’s so flimsy nobody has noticed it. I have no idea if this is true and I’d suggest you give it the same amount [...]

There isn’t a whole lot to say here. La Russa dropped him straight into the cleanup spot to protect his Pujols. This one hurts.

Kurt and Andy hold down the fort while Corey phones in from Southern California. We discuss the Milton Bradley incident, how we feel about Soriano, our opinions of Lou’s performance this year and Soto’s love of the hippie lettuce.

Our new asshat of the week can be seen in the upper-right corner of the photo. Yeah, he’s the one wearing the goat mask. Apparently it worked out well for him as the Cubs won the game 5-4. His voice could be heard throughout the broadcast, and I heard him calling Soto a “burnout” during [...]

This last series against the Tigers indicates that my last post, “Cubs return to form in Atlanta“, was pretty accurate. I missed the entire series, driving to California. Part of me is not sure if I want to even look at the game summaries. Andy kept me updated through text that the Cubs had continued [...]

We had planned to get together tonight for a podcast episode but the weather looked fierce and since we record outside, we decided to cancel it. Of course, no rain came and everything just blew around a lot.
The plan is to have one this upcoming weekend.
If you haven’t heard our podcast, give it a try. [...]

The Cubs jumped down to Atlanta for one game and were shutout for the sixth time this season. Four of those have come in the last 30 games. Last night, the Cubs had 10 hits with 12 total baserunners when you include Fukudome’s two walks. And once again, another good pitching performance is wasted.
I was [...]

I got home just in time to catch the final inning of todays game, and boy was it ever a fun one to watch. When I don’t have a baby on my lap, I want to find out the record for extra innings games in a season and see how the 2009 cubs compare.
And [...]
