Even though the Cubs lost last night, I’ll be damned if they aren’t playing some entertaining baseball right now. I know the D-backs are terrible, but it doesn’t matter. I’ve still just had fun watching the Cubs play baseball, and watching the Diamondbacks play makes me feel a little better about the Cubs. On one [...]

There aren’t too many good things to say about the Cubs right now. I watched all of Tuesday night’s terrible game and only some of last night’s equally terrible game. What the crap is up with Wells? It’s too bad that Marshall and Gorzelanny are both lefties because it’s looking like Wells should get a [...]

“Congrats on the win, Kevin. Now pack your s–t and get to Pittsburgh. The good news is you won’t have to look at Jack Wilson’s or Freddy Sanchez’s ugly mugs when you get there. The bad news is your team is probably going to suck for quite some time. Enjoy!”
The Cubs got lefties John Grabow [...]

I suppose it’s because we were too busy watching 18 innings of knock down drag out rivalry baseball yesterday.. but somehow, none of us gave a shout out to the saddest day in Chicago baseball.. Obviously, it happened on the South Side.. but it still needs to be mentioned. Clearly, I’m referring to Disco Demolition [...]

There is a lot going on with the Cubs right now. One of the most pressing issues is the burgeoning injury list. We were so relieved and happy to be injury-free at the beginning of the regular season. Do you see what happens, little Larry? It would have been better to get it out our [...]

We are above .500 and are only two games behind the first-place Cardinals. Fans can still be optimistic about how the team will do within this division, but it has become increasingly difficult to hope for much success beyond that. This series against the Brewers and the upcoming series against the Cardinals will help make [...]

The Cubs defeated the Astros 7-1 last night behind the strong pitching of Ted Lilly and the resurgence of some dormant bats. Lilly picked up his 7th win, Mike Fontenot went 4-5, including a solo homerun, and Geovany Soto went 3-5. The only bat that remained MIA was Milton Bradley’s. He went 0-6, and smashed [...]

“A high deep drive… Bobby Scales with his first career homer!”
Last night’s game was pretty great, and the highlight for me was seeing Bobby Scales hit that home run. He has spent over 10 seasons in the minors prior to this first stint in the majors, and he has worked as a substitute teacher in [...]
